Why a project on Environmental Justice?
Why is the SAME World project interesting for you?
Some people – right now- are enjoying all the benefits of Development: energy, clean water, and high living and consumption standards. But who’s paying the price? Is climate change a reality, something that questions our lifestyle and Economic system, or should we continue with “business as usual”?
Every day we can see images of desperate people abandoning their land, or made refugees by “natural” disasters: some media evoke images of “invasion” and none seem to question why increasing parts of the planet have suddenly become dangerous or uninhabitable.
Climate Change, Environmental Justice, Rights of Nature, Refugee and Migrant Rights…these are connected issues relevant to us all, but they are often presented in isolation.
Maybe it’s time to make connections among these phenomena that are under our eyes, and take action! The SAME world project offers engaging activities and tools for children and adults, to find out more about these serious issues and how to engage in simple actions that will change our environment into a ‘SAME world for all people’.
